WC/C

WC/C is a WC/C-based coating, therefore a mixture of metal and carbon similar to diamond, deposited at a temperature below 200 ° C with standard thickness from 1 to 4 µm (customized thicknesses can be requested). It is the ideal way to reduce surface fatigue and tribo-oxidation.

Color Anthracite
Thickness 1-4 µm
Max. operating temperature [°C] 300
Hardness [GPa] 14
Friction coefficient 0.08

All provided data are approximate values, depend on the application, environment and test conditions. Coating hardness HIT [GPa] measured by nano indentation according to ISO 14577. Hardness can be adapted to the application. Friction coefficient (dry) compared to the steel determined by ball-on-disc dry test with a steel sphere according to ASTM G99. During the running-in the indicated values may be exceeded. Maximum service temperature [° C] These are approximate values.

WC/C coating has good wear resistance and is also antiseptic.
It is appreciated for its low coefficient of friction (0.08) and for its competency to prevent adhesive phenomena such as sticking and cold welding.
With WC/C covers all the sliding parts such as motor gears, camshafts, compressor screws, sliding guides, ball bearing rings, worm screws and all the moving parts where conditions of poor lubrication exist.
WC/C is one of the ceramic coatings that complies with the ISO 10993 standard, therefore it is declared biocompatible and does not irritate the skin
