AlTiSiN

AlTiSiN is characterised by its high thermal stability and oxidation resistance. The nanolayer structure of AlTiSiN provides an optimal balance between intrinsic stress, hardness and fracture resistance that prevents the formation and propagation of micro cracks. Thanks to the silicon content, it has a glass hard surface with good anti-friction properties and a low tendency to stick to the machined workpiece material.

All provided data are approximate values, depend on the application, environment and test conditions. Coating hardness HIT [GPa] measured by nano indentation according to ISO 14577. Hardness can be adapted to the application. Friction coefficient (dry) compared to the steel determined by ball-on-disc dry test with a steel sphere according to ASTM G99. During the running-in the indicated values may be exceeded. Maximum service temperature [° C] These are approximate values.

High oxidation resistance and against abrasion: thanks to the silicon content, it has a glass hard surface with good anti-friction properties and a low tendency to stick to the machined workpiece material.
High thermal stability: stable and vibration-free working conditions are important for this coating.
Major benefits for the fore during deep hole drilling, and during drilling without cooling lubricant, or when using minimal lubrication MQL.
AlTiSiN is particularly indicated for the cutting of difficult materials, such as:
- hardened steel
- stainless steel
- cast iron, titanium, and nickel alloys
