AlTiN is a all-round coating, it is therefore ideal for tools and components that are subject to high thermal loads. AlTiN has a great  oxidation resistance, it permits to keep a high superficial hardness and great toughness if subjected to high mechanical stress.

Hardness can be adapted to the application. Friction coefficient (dry) compared to the steel determined by ball-on-disc dry test with a steel sphere according to ASTM G99. High heat and oxidation resistance: thanks to the fine nanostructure, it has the high surface smooth quality.
High hardness and toughness: it improves tool life. It is a good choice for hard and dry machining (MQL) and high cutting speed.
AlTiN offers high performances in milling and forming; thanks to the fine nanostructure, is also suitable for micro drills and miniature tools.
